Mission Statement To provide a business model that will contain the standard operating procedures, media recognition and assistance in insurance company approval for Motorcycle Collision Centers throughout the US. These operating centers will provide services for a full range of power-sports applications. Background Anybody who owns an automobile has had a personal experience or knows somebody who has needed the services of a body and fender collision repair service. There are an abundance of such independent companies in any town or U.S. city.
However, the organizers of the MCCUI have found no evidence of any such company in existence that specializes in motorcycle collision repair.
When the concept of collision repair facilities that specialize in motorcycles was first presented to Geico by Mr. Mike Cavinder, the interest level was phenomenally high. One of the first questions to be asked of Cavinder was: “Is this a single location or will you take this nationwide?” Market: Past, Present, and Future The collision industry has been developed and profitable in the automotive industry for decades.
The motorcycle collision market is undeveloped and generally operated through established new bike retailers, which provide little priority to the insurance claims. As MCCUI becomes the standard as stand-alone or blended businesses, it will provide the long awaited solutions for the riders and the insurance companies.
As the US morphs into a Euro-like transportation society due to the influence of increasing fuel prices, the 2-wheel transportation market will be ever growing, increasing the 2-wheeled collision/theft recovery market. It is predicted that fast rising gasoline prices in the U.S. will create a society of two-wheeled motorized commuters in addition to the many thousands of existing pleasure riders. These commuter vehicles will range from the Vespa type scooters up to Harleys and the various Asian and European motorcycles. In Europe and other societies, high gasoline prices have already created the model for the prediction for the U.S. Motorized scooters enjoy fuel economy in the 75 MPG range and even big Harleys get upwards of 45 MPG. Problems and opportunities Victims of collisions and thefts are treated secondary to the main operations of current repair centers, leaving them waiting and wanting a better solution to expedite their claims and get them ‘rolling’ again.
Insurance companies are taking the brunt of the intolerance for the lack of care given to the claims. Progressive Insurance now implements national ad campaigns to reflect their client’s claims will receive better attention then other companies. They are spending millions of dollars in an attempt to lure customers based sole on expedited servicing.
The solution is Motorcycle Collision Centers approach to claims servicing. By providing what the public and the insurance companies desire, the business model sells itself.
